Currently assigned to the Homicide Trial Division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Judge Poserina’s judicial career has also included an appointment as a federal arbitrator, service on various arbitration panels for the Common Pleas Court and as a Special Master in Civil Cases. Prior to his judicial service, Judge Poserina was a partner in the law firm of Greenberg, Poserina and Sagot (1961-1962), a partner in the law firm of Ettinger, Poserina, Silverman, Dubin, Anapol and Sagot (1962-1976), and served as counsel for the Pennsylvania Securities Commission (1967-1970). Author of various articles appearing in such publications as Temple Law Quarterly, Philadelphia Federation of Teachers Newspaper, the Water Pollution Control Journal and the Philadelphia Bar Association Quarterly, Judge Poserina also conducts judicial seminars for the Pennsylvania Conference of Trial Judges, the Philadelphia Bar Association and has served as a delegate to the Federal Conference of Family Courts. Judge Poserina is the recipient of various honors and awards including: the Port Richmond Civic Association Community Leader Award (1973), the Birth Defects Fund Vince Lombardi Award (1979), Temple Law School’s Distinguished Service Award (1985) and the Catholic War Veterans Outstanding Man of the Year Award (1996).
