Thomas M. Thompson, Esq. Buchanan Ingersoll, P.C., Pittsburgh Mr. Thompson is a shareholder with the law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll, Pittsburgh, and is Chair of the firm's Corporate Finance Group. He works primarily in the areas of corporate acquisitions (both domestic and foreign publicly and privately held companies), private placements and public offerings of securities (representing both issuers and underwriters) and venture capital financing. Mr. Thompson is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, teaching a Business Planning course on mergers and acquisitions. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Legal Opinion Committee and the ABA's Committee on Negotiated Acquisitions and Chair of its Task Force compiling a manual on the acquisition process. He is formerly Chair of the Business Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association. Mr. Thompson serves on the Council of the Business Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is Chair of the Steering Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's project on third party legal opinions. He is Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Lawyer Trust Account Board, which manages the Pennsylvania IOLTA Program. Mr. Thompson received his A.B. in 1965 from Grove City College and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1968. |
