Judge Lewis has been a common pleas court judge in Dauphin County since 1994. His judicial assignments have included civil, criminal and family court matters. He currently serves as the county’s juvenile court judge. Prior to becoming a judge, he served as District Attorney of Dauphin County for 14 years from 1980-1994. He started his legal career on the district attorney’s staff in 1972 following graduation from the Dickinson School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in 1969. He is the former President of the Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Association and has served on numerous boards and commissions, both as district attorney and now as a trial judge. He is an adjunct professor of law at the Dickinson School of Law and Widener University School of Law (Harrisburg). Judge Lewis currently serves on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Committee on the Rules of Evidence and formerly served on the Education Committee of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges.
