Mr. Suss is Senior Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He served for 18 years as a Deputy District Attorney in the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. He is the co-author of “Mandatory Sentencing: A Different Perspective,” The Pennsylvania Bar Association Quarterly, January 1987. He has taught at the Pennsylvania College of State Trial Judges, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s Criminal Law Symposium, and at numerous other CLE certified criminal law courses. He has briefed or argued more than 200 cases, either as lead counsel or as Amicus Curiae, before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals. Mr. Suss received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Suss was appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to serve on the Criminal Procedural Rules Committee from 1996 to 2002. He retired from the full time practice of law in January 2000, but remains active as a certified Municipal Police instructor and as a part-time employee of the Office of the Attorney General of Pennsylvania.
