Lauren S. Irwin is a partner with Upton & Hatfield, LLP in Concord, NH. Her practice involves primarily litigation, representing primarily plaintiffs in employment discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, Family and Medical Leave Act, and other employment cases involving both federal and state law. Lauren regularly represents employees before the New Hampshire Human Rights Commission, the New Hampshire Department of Employment Security, and the New Hampshire Department of Labor. In addition, she has successfully litigated and resolved numerous employment cases in both the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and the Superior Courts. Lauren earned her B.A. from Wesleyan College in 1991 and her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1994. Lauren is the President of the New Hampshire Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers’ Association. She is the former Chair of both the Labor & Employment Law and Federal Practice Sections of the New Hampshire Bar Association. Lauren is a member of the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association, the New Hampshire Council of School Attorneys, the New Hampshire Bar Association Dispute Resolution Committee, and is a member of the Advisory Board of Directors for Dress for Success-New Hampshire. She volunteers as a mediator for the Superior Court Rule 170 program and the New Hampshire Human Rights Commission mediation program. Lauren is a frequent speaker on employment law issues. 1/09 TL
