Hon. Jacqueline F. Allen Judicial Team Leader, Day Forward Major Jury Program 2012 Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Jacqueline Allen is a Philadelphia County Common Pleas Court Judge having been elected to the bench in 1993 and retained for an additional ten-year term in 2003. She is presently assigned to the Trial Division and sits in the Civil Program as a team leader supervising all major cases filed in 2001. As team leader she maintains judicial control over major jury cases with verdict potential in excess of $50,000. In addition to conducting settlement conferences, Judge Allen rules on all discovery motions and petitions for extraordinary relief prior to assigning cases to judicial team members for trial. She regularly serves as a presenter and discussion group leader for the New Judges Training Conference sponsored by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts. Prior to her current assignment Judge Allen sat on the criminal side of the court for four years. She has received certification in Civil Mediation and Dispute Resolution for the National Judicial College. Judge Allen received her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 1979 and a B.A. from Lincoln University. She also earned a Masters degree in English Literature from Ohio State University. |
