Emily G. Rice is an attorney with Orr & Reno, PA in Concord, NH. She is a trial lawyer and mediator whose extensive trial experience focuses on representing defendants in commercial, professional liability, employment and media law matters. She earned her B.A. in 1977 and her M.A. in 1979 from Boston University, and her J.D. from Northeastern University Law School in 1984. In addition to her trial practice, Emily maintains a private mediation practice concentrating on employment disputes, and serves on the mediation panels of the New Hampshire Superior Court, the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights. Emily has been recognized with the New Hampshire Bar Association’s E. Donald Dufresne Award for Outstanding Professionalism, and by the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association as a recipient of its Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award. She is a member (and former chair) of the Advisory Committee on Rules of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit; a member of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules; and the Defense Research Institute. Emily is the co-chair of New Hampshire’s Judicial Selection Commission. She is a member of the NHBA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution; Federal Practice; and Labor & Employment Law Sections. Emily is an adjunct professor of law at UNH School of Law, where she teaches trial advocacy in the Daniel Webster Scholars program.
