Daniel W. Krane, Esq. Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, Philadelphia Dan Krane is a partner in the Corporate and Securities Group of Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP, and leads the firm's Corporate and Securities Insurance Practice Team. His practice focuses on corporate, transactional and regulatory issues affecting a wide array of financial services firms, including onshore and off-shore public and private insurers and reinsurers, financial institutions, integrated health care systems, producers, TPAs, self-insurance and captive arrangements, investment advisors, and hedge funds. Dan has extensive experience advising clients in formations, mergers, acquisitions, public offerings, demutualizations, redomestications, reinsurance, holding company transactions, distribution issues, product development, compliance, regulatory issues, and rehabilitation and insolvency proceedings. Dan is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, and other professional and trade associations. He is active in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and has presented before NAIC working groups on various topics. Dan is the past chair of the Financial Services Integration Committee of the ABA Tort and Insurance Practice Section, the Insurance Committee of the Business Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Financially Distressed Health Organizations Committee of the New Jersey Bar Association Health and Hospital Law Section, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at the Rutgers School of Law for an advanced insurance course. Dan has been active on committees and task forces involved with drafting insurance, financial services and health care laws, and frequently writes and lectures on these topics. Dan received his J.D. degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1985, and is a member of the bar in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
