Joel C. Hopkins, Esq. Saul Ewing LLP, Harrisburg Mr. Hopkins is a partner at Saul Ewing, LLP and a member of its Business and Litigation departments. He is a core member of the firm’s Insurance Practice Group, and represents insurers, risk retention groups, producers and self-insureds in all aspects of their businesses, including regulatory compliance, market conduct examinations, enforcement actions, coverage claims and bad faith issues. He also assists clients in preparing claims policies and procedures, and drafting policy forms endorsements. Mr. Hopkins’ insurance litigation practice is focused on policy based disputes and regulatory actions before state insurance departments. He is claims and coverage counsel to insurers and self-insured groups. Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Mr. Hopkins worked for 10 years as an insurance professional with the Aetna and Travelers insurance companies, and earned his Associate in Claims and Associate in Risk Management designations from the Insurance Institute of America. Mr. Hopkins is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania state and federal courts and in New Jersey state courts. He has been designated a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star for insurance coverage for several years in a row, and is a frequent lecturer on a variety of insurance and risk transfer related subjects.
