David G. Webbert is a partner in the Augusta firm of Johnson & Webbert, L.L.P., specializing in employment, civil rights and complex litigation. David has won many precedent-setting civil rights cases and some of the largest jury verdicts in Maine. He graduated magna cum laude from both Yale College in 1982 and Harvard Law School in 1985, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. David clerked for Judge Kenneth W. Starr of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and practiced for 5 years with a leading litigation firm in D.C. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and is President of the Maine Employment Lawyers Association. The Chambers USA guide to leading lawyers lists David as the top attorney for employees in Maine. He received the Justice Louis Scolnik award from the Maine Civil Liberties Union for exceptional work on behalf of civil liberties and an award for his representation of Maine citizens with disabilities from the Disability Rights Center of Maine. David is a member of the Maine Federal Courtís Local Rules Advisory Committee and the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the Maine State Bar Association.
