J. Scott Davis is Bar Counsel for the Board of Overseers of the Bar, 1984 to present; Past President of The National Organization of Bar Counsel, 1999 to 2000; Assistant/Deputy District Attorney for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties, 1975 to 1983. University of Maine Graduate, 1972; University of Maine School of Law Graduate, 1975. Former NOBC Liaison to the ABA’s Standing Committee on Professional Discipline and Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility. Served as Consultation Team Member of the ABA’s Standing Committee on Lawyer Competence re: studies of disciplinary systems in Montana, Vermont and Nebraska. Co-authored How to Avoid Making a Bad Situation Worse – Responding to a Complaint to the Board of Overseers of the Bar (Maine Bar Journal – July, 1995).
