Mr. Cepielik is a Partner of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, LLP and plays leadership roles on regional and national initiatives in the firm. First and foremost, he is a forensic accountant who has performed numerous forensic accounting and litigation support engagements. Rob has assisted counsel in the forensic investigation of accounting and financial statement misstatement issues; Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and bribery investigations; defalcations, physician and vendor kickback issues; asset tracing and accounting record reconstruction; preferential and fraudulent conveyances; Medicare and Medicaid False Claims Act violations; and other alleged controls, policies and ethics violations. On the litigation front, Rob has been engaged to assist clients in both testifying and nontestifying roles. His engagements have included purchase prices disputes; contractual disputes; pharmaceutical royalty and vendor rebate issues; professional liability defense; provider and payor disputes; fair value assessments; and other sundry contractual disputes. Rob has serviced clients in the Health Care, Life Sciences, Financial Services, High Tech, Utilities, Manufacturing and Retail Industries. His U.S. based practice is world-wide in scope with significant engagements managed in the U.K., Japan, the E.U., Korea, Latin America, China, The Caribbean, Singapore and other Asia/Pacific countries. Mr. Cepielik is a frequent speaker for accounting, business and health care groups. He has taught numerous seminars on accounting, auditing and SEC topics at statewide and national events. He has served as a board and committee member of regional chapters of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He authored many Deloitte staff training programs on forensic investigation, fraud prevention and detection and other related subjects. He co-authored DRG Watch, an interactive educational package to assist acute care providers with their compliance with the 72-hour rule settlement agreements. He has published internal firm Health Care Fraud Alerts and also co-authored the book Physician Practice Management Companies The Shape of Things to Come and When Money, Image or Top Execs are Implicated, Involvement from the Audit Committee is Key. Licensed as a CPA in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, and Missouri, Rob is a member os the American, Pennsylvania, and Florida Institutes of CPAs, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.He earned his MS in Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University and his BS in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University.
