Director, Arbitration Center Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia Mr. Hassett has been the director of the Compulsory Arbitration Center, Court of Common Pleas, First Judicial District, since 1998. He received a B.S. degree in administration of justice from the Pennsylvania State University in 1985 and his J.D. in 1989 from Temple University School of Law. Upon graduation, Mr. Hassett was an associate with the Law Offices of William J. Benz, specializing in the area of personal injury. From 1991 to 1998, he was a law clerk to the Honorable Alex Bonavitacola, former president judge, Court of Common Pleas, First Judicial District. In 2006, Mr. Hassett was a recipient of the Red Cross Medal of Honor and Certificate of Merit signed by President George W. Bush for saving a life in court. Mr. Hassett is a member of the First Judicial District Civil Trial Division e-Filing Project Committee, as well as a member of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Court Managers and the Pennsylvania Association of Court Management. He is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on compulsory arbitration practice and procedure in Philadelphia County. |
