Meyer Darragh Buckler Bebenek & Eck, P.L.L.C., Pittsburgh Mr. Riester is a partner at the Pittsburgh law firm of Meyer Darragh Buckler Bebenek & Eck, P.L.L.C. He received his B.A. from Adrian College and his J.D. in 1974 from Duquesne University. Mr. Riester presently is a member of the National College of DUI Attorneys and PA College of DUI Attorneys, the Allegheny County Bar Association, former Member of the Board of Trustees, Criminal Trial Lawyers Division, and Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Formerly, Attorney Riester was a member of the National Association of District Attorneys, Pennsylvania Association of District Attorneys and faculty member of the National College of District Attorneys in 1980. Before entering private practice, Mr. Riester served as Assistant Deputy District Attorney for Allegheny County (1974-1983), and as Deputy District Attorney for complex litigation involving homicide trials, investigating grand jury and electronic surveillance. He served as a Specially-Designated Assistant U.S. Attorney (1980-1981) and Special Prosecutor for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office in the investigation of a serial murder (1983-1984). While in private practice, he was also a consultant/trial counsel for the Office of the Public Defender in the Homicide Section from 1983-1985. He has also lectured for the Office of Chief Counsel Department of Transportation, Pennsylvania State Police Academy, Office of Attorney General, Allegheny County Police Academy, City of Pittsburgh Police Academy and Allegheny County Bar Association. He is a member of the National College of DUI Attorneys. Mr. Riester has lectured and written since 1995 for PBI on topics of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol and Motor Vehicle Code Offenses. |
