Justice Stanley G. Feldman Chief Justice, (Ret.) Haralson, Miller, Pitt, Feldman & McAnally PLC STANLEY G. FELDMAN was one of the three Tucson lawyers who, in 1968, formed the firm of Miller, Pitt & Feldman. He practiced with the firm and was managing partner until December 1981. His fields of practice included tort, contract, insurance, and employment litigation, as well as condemnation cases for both government entities and property owners. He was active in civil and bar organizations and served on the Boards and as President of both the Pima County Bar Association and the State Bar of Arizona. He also taught civil procedure as an adjunct professor at the University of Arizona College of Law. In January 1982, Governor Babbitt appointed Mr. Feldman to the Arizona Supreme Court, where he served for 21 years, including a five-year term as Chief Justice from 1992 through 1996. During his term as Chief Justice, he was active in the National Center for State Courts and the Conference of Chief Justices; he served on the CCJ Board from 1993 through 1996. Justice Feldman retired from the Arizona Supreme Court in December 2002 and, in 2003, rejoined the firm he helped found. He practices with the firm in an of-counsel capacity, again in the areas of trial and appellate practice dealing with tort, contract, insurance, including insurance bad faith, and employment litigation, as well as business, public interest, and governmental matters. He is also available as a mediator, arbitrator, and consultant on various matters including professional responsibility issues. Mr. Feldman presently serves on the boards of the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest, the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association (and as chair of its Amicus Committee), and United Policyholders (a national consumer organization protecting insureds). He is a member and Fellow of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Arizona, and a member of the Pima County Bar Association. He has lectured and spoken at many legal seminars.
