Marla A. Joseph, Esq. The Law Offices of Marla A. Joseph, Jenkintown Ms. Joseph is the Principal and sole shareholder of The Law Offices of Marla A. Joseph, LLC. Her primary areas of practice are workers’ compensation and social security disability. She received her B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University in 1991, and her J.D. from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in 1994, where she received a Barristers' Society Award for Achievement in Trial Advocacy. Ms. Joseph was voted by her peers and a Blue Ribbon Panel as one of Pennsylvania’s Top 50 Women Lawyers in Philadelphia Magazine’s 2009 “Super Lawyers” edition and also was voted as a “Super Lawyer” in the field of workers’ compensation in 2009 and in three previous years. She also received the 2004 “Lawyers on the Fast Track” award, from The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly (American Lawyer Media-PA). Ms. Joseph frequently lectures on workers' compensation issues, and has planned and moderated a variety of seminars for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Philadelphia Bar Association, and Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers. She is a faculty member for the annual Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Law Section meeting, one of the premier seminars for workers’ compensation practitioners throughout the Commonwealth. In 2003, Ms. Joseph was elected to serve a three year term on the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors and she also served on the Philadelphia Bar Association’s 2003 Workers’ Compensation Committee’s Executive Committee. Ms. Joseph is a prior Executive Committee member of the Women in the Profession Committee. In 2002, when Marla Chaired the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD), the YLD received multiple awards from the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Conference of County Bar Leaders. In 2001, Ms. Joseph co-chaired the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Law Week, which received the Law Day 2001 Activity award. Ms. Joseph is also the former co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Women's Rights Committee (2001), and she served on the Judicial Commission in 2001 and 2002. Ms. Joseph co-planned and moderated a seminar on civility, which received an award from the American Bar Association. Ms. Joseph is a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers associations. Ms. Joseph has published articles in the Philadelphia Lawyer, The Verdict, and she had a monthly column in the Philadelphia Bar Reporter in 2002. |
