Mr. Trachtman is a founding shareholder and the president of Powell, Trachtman, Logan, Carrle & Lombardo, P.C., a 30+ attorney law firm representing businesses and business people, based in King of Prussia, with offices in Harrisburg and Cherry Hill. For over thirty years, his practice has focused on representing companies of various types and sizes in business matters, employment law, commercial litigation, and the avoidance of commercial litigation. Mr. Trachtman also serves as general counsel to the Mid-Atlantic Employers’ Association, a trade group of approximately 800 companies, and is the founder and CEO of Counsel Consulting Group LLC, an employment law consulting and training firm that assists companies throughout the country. Mr. Trachtman is the author of What Every Executive Better Know About the Law, published by Simon and Schuster in 1987 (selected by Fortune Magazine as a feature book and republished by the Mid-Atlantic Employers’ Association in 2009), The Supremes’ Greatest Hits: The 37 Cases that Most Directly Affect Your Life, originally published by Sterling Publishing (a division of Barnes & Noble) in 2006 and revised and updated in a 2009 second edition (selected by PBS as an adjunct to its series on the Supreme Court), and numerous other articles and publications. His latest book, The Four Mistakes: Avoiding the Legal Landmines that Lead to Business Disaster, also published by Sterling, will be distributed beginning in April 2010. In 2007, he received a special award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the “Clarity Award,” given “For the Use of Plain English in Promoting the Justice System.” Mr. Trachtman has served on numerous committees and task forces regarding the improvement of the prac¬tice of law. In addition, he is a frequent speaker for trade associations and business groups, and has appeared on over 50 radio and television programs across the country. He is a 1971 graduate of Dickinson College, with honors, and a 1974 graduate of the Villanova University School of Law, with honors, where he served as an editor of the Villanova Law Review. Upon his graduation from law school, he was elected by the faculty to the Order of the Coif, a national law honorary, and the law school's highest honor. Mr. Trachtman holds the “AV” peer rating awarded by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating available for both professional standards and ethical conduct. He has been designated as a Philadelphia “Superlawyer” by Philadelphia Magazine since 2005.
