Mr. Conwell is a partner with the law firm of Swartz Campbell, LLC where his exclusive area of practice is workers’ compensation. Mr. Conwell represents employers, insurance companies and self-insured employers in workers’ compensation litigation throughout the Commonwealth. He has lectured extensively on Act 44 and Act 57 amendments to the Workers Compensation Act. He has served as the Program Chair for the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers Compensation Law Section Annual Seminar from 1995 through 1997. He served as an officer in the Section beginning 1998, including as Chair of the Section in 2002 and 2003. Mr. Conwell also served as Editor for the Defense Research Institute’s national publication The Compensation Courier and authored a chapter for the West Group publication Employment Law Deskbook for Human Resources Professionals on workers compensation. He has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for his work in the area of workers compensation for the last 10 years as well as being selected as a SuperLawyer by the Philadelphia Magazine for the last 5 years.Mr. Conwell has served as designated counsel on both the construction of PNC Park for the Pittsburgh Pirates and of the Consol Energy Center for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College in 1981, with a major in Medieval Studies. After working for United Telephone of Pennsylvania upon graduation, Mr. Conwell attended the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 1986. His legal career began with Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote in 1986.
