Judge George Finkle (Ret.) is a 1973 graduate of Harvard Law School. Judge Finkle sat on the King County Superior Court bench from 1989 through 1999, where his diverse trial docket included State of Washington v. American Tobacco Co., the leading case in the national tobacco litigation. He served the Court as Chief Civil Judge. Since joining Judicial Dispute Resolution in 1999, Judge Finkle has arbitrated and mediated a wide range of civil disputes, including employment/discrimination, healthcare, insurance, agriculture, maritime, securities, real estate, technology, professional negligence, international, environmental/recycling, construction, corporate, and family law cases. He has also served as a Special Deputy Washington State Insurance Commissioner on hearings related to a non-profit health insurer seeking conversion to for-profit status, as Special Master in state and federal courts and as an election supervisor. Judge Finkle serves on the Governorís State Public Defense Advisory Committee, and is a volunteer homebuilder with Habitat for Humanity. He is Chair of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Associated Grocers, a co-operative.[September 2010]
