STEVEN PLITT is a nationally recognized expert in the field of insurance coverage and bad faith cases. He is also an expert witness in insurance agent E&O claims and legal malpractice where the issues involve insurance. Mr. Plitt was the lead expert on bad faith issues in the WorldCom Securities litigation. He has analyzed coverage issues in more than 40 states and provided expert consulting for both insurance companies and policyholders and analysis in coverage, claim handling, and bad faith cases in 23 states. He has published the books Arizona Liability Insurance Law (and it’s 2006 Supplement), along with CAT Claims: Insurance Coverage for Natural and Man-Made Disasters, The Claim Adjuster’s Automobile Liability Handbook, and the soon to be published Practical Guide to Handling Insurance Cases. He is the author of numerous law reviews and professional publications on insurance. He is currently rewriting COUCH ON INSURANCE 3D. Mr. Plitt has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America for the field of insurance law continuously since insurance law was added as a category. He is listed as one of the top 50 lawyers in the State of Arizona (including all fields) by Southwest SuperLawyers for the years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He was a former Adjunct Professor of Law teaching at Arizona State University’s College of Law various insurance law courses. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Arizona’s College of Law where he teaches insurance law.
