Guy Wm. Bluff is a trial lawyer who practices almost exclusively in the areas of construction claims preparation and litigation; public, commercial, and residential contracting; mechanics liens and stop notices; and surety and bond law. He received a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Arizona in 1982 and a J.D. from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1986. Since 1977, Mr. Bluff has been a shareholder and officer of a large general engineering construction company specializing in public works construction. Since 1978, Mr. Bluff has prepared (on behalf of contractors/subcontractors) or defended (on behalf of the owners/architects/engineers) more than 650 construction related claimsūranging from the single issue $10,000 construction dispute to the $17,000,000 complex and multifaceted construction claim.Mr. Bluff frequently acts as an arbitrator and mediator in construction and contract disputes, is an adjunct professor at Maricopa County Community College teaching courses in construction law, and is a Judge Pro Tem for Maricopa County Superior Court. He is an accomplished speaker and author and has appeared before more than 50 different trial and appellate courts, Boards of Contract Appeals, and other tribunals throughout the western states and Washington, D.C. on construction claim issues. Mr. Bluff is a member of the State Bars of Arizona and California.
