DAVID L. ABNEY specializes in civil appeals, with the occasional civil motion for variety. He has a B.A. (double major, History and Russian) (1980) and a J.D. (1983) from the University of Arizona, an LL.M. in Federal Claims Litigation from the University of San Diego School of Law (1986), a Master of Science in Forensic Sciences from National University (1986), and an M.A. in Southwestern History (1988) and a Ph.D. in American History (1995) from Arizona State University. He served as a Russian linguist in the U.S. Navy and later as a lawyer in the U.S. Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He clerked for three years for Chief Justice Stanley G. Feldman, has worked at a variety of small, medium, and large law firms, and now works with Knapp & Roberts, P.C. Mr. Abney has argued scores of state and federal appeals, written hundreds of appellate briefs, and authored over 50 legal articles. He loves to write, and continually strives to write better.
