Opportunities to do legal work abroad aren’t restricted to the striped-pant set and super-sized international firms. Through the National Center for State Courts’ International Programs Division, the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative, and other organizations, lawyers participate in programs designed to improve the quality and administration of justice and strengthen the rule of law. They also use their U.S. training and experience to practice in the criminal and civil courts of foreign jurisdictions.

At this half-day program, the faculty recounts their experiences on projects including election monitoring, war crimes documentation, and rule of law. They also discuss opportunities that may be available for Alaska lawyers.
